Packaging is the first thing your customer touches — and the last thing protecting your roast from oxygen, light and moisture. Here's how to choose well.
Pouch formats
- Stand-up pouch — the retail default. Stable on shelf, resealable zip, works from 250 g to 1 kg.
- Side gusset bag — the classic "coffee bag" silhouette. Efficient for 500 g–1 kg whole bean.
- Flat-bottom (box) pouch — five printable panels and a premium stance; the specialty-retail favourite.
- Jute-look bulk bag — breathable, rustic, right for green coffee and wholesale movement.
The one-way valve
Fresh-roasted coffee releases CO₂ for days. A degassing valve lets gas out without letting oxygen in — essential if you pack within 48 hours of roasting. Skip it only for green coffee.
Barrier and finish
High-barrier laminates keep oxygen transmission low; matte finishes hide scuffs and photograph beautifully. Kraft reads natural and estate-y; black reads specialty. All our pouches are food grade.
Blank vs custom print
- Blank pouches ship from stock — self-serve on the packaging page, MOQs from 100 pouches.
- Custom print (your brand, your dieline) is quoted by our team — start a custom packaging inquiry or configure a full private-label run in the White Label Builder.
Do the math before you order
Cost per filled pouch = pouch price + (coffee price × fill weight). The portal's Packaging Calculator does this live against our current price list, including your retail margin.
